Sharmista Raha

Bred in the hills and domiciled in the city, she carries a deep longing for the mountains, forests, and the wilderness. A professional RJ, she is equally at ease behind the microphone and working with words. She spends her time translating Bangla scripts into Queen’s English for both government and private projects. Her love for sarees and traditional Indian attire drew her towards entrepreneurship. Handlooms and handmade textiles are her true passion, and preserving as well as propagating this heritage is her mission. She dreams of reviving the handloom industry and firmly believes in Mahatma Gandhi’s words: “The handloom industry ought not to die.”
